Challenge with a twist

We are so excited to announce our first ever Instagram Challenge. We didn't want to do the standard 'ol yoga challenge so we are doing one with a twist. Our #EmbodiedIntention challenge is all about how certain words make you feel and what that looks like to you.

From September 15th until September 30th, we will post the "word of the day" on our Instagram feed and, should you wish to play along, you post what that word means to you visually. In order to be entered into the contest portion of the challenge simply do the following:

2.) Tag @yogotv and @neulotus in your post
3.) Use the hashtag in your description #yogotv

These are the only daily requirements for the 15 days of the challenge and get you entered for a chance to win a yogo subscription and a NEUlotus yoga prop! YAY!

Looking forward to embodying yoga with you via Instagram.

Love this Class- Our newest feature

We are so excited to share with you our newest feature on!

You can now save your favourite classes and the site will also keep track of recently viewed classes, which means less time on the computer searching your favourite class and more time on your mat doing your favourite class!

Here's how: At the bottom right of the class you are doing there is a grey heart, click on it and it will turn red to mark the class as a favourite.

Then the next time you login to your account your favourite and recently viewed classes will appear.

We hope that you enjoy this feature and continue to give us feedback so we can always be your number one Canadian website for yoga.

With Love,
The team.

Shop local - support Canada (read to the bottom for something special)

We're proud to be a Canadian company. A company that supports Canadian yoga teachers and studios. Every time you watch a video you support that teacher and studio, as they receive royalties from your viewing. So from all of us at, THANK YOU for buying local and supporting the Canadian yoga industry.

We're also excited to support other great Canadian companies doing interesting things. In the past we've mentioned BMat an incredible natural rubber Canadian yoga mat company. Along with Mala Collective a fair trade Mala and clothing company. Remember Heart & Lotus the local BC woman making beautiful unique jewelry? Well we have another Canadian company we want to spotlight.

So to properly introduce you to this wonderful Canadian company we did an interview with Peter from the VANCITY BOX, here in Vancouver, B.C..

1. Tell us about your company: We are a subscription box company that features locally-made crafts and goods, created by small businesses in Vancouver. It is a way to promote our community's businesses, discover hidden treasures in our city, and encourage people to shop locally. Plus, who doesn't love receiving gifts every month?

2. How do you stay inspired in your business? I'd say I get inspired the most by the small businesses I work with. Talking to them and seeing their passion really drives me to be just as passionate as they are. One thing I've noticed in Vancouver's start-up community is that we all love helping each other out and you never know what you can learn from someone until you sit down with them and get to know each other.

3. Tell us a typical day in your shoes? Everyday is different. Some days I'm pitching proposals to companies, some days I'm building boxes, and other days I'll just decide to take a nap! You need to rest your mind and body once in awhile so you don't burnout!

4. How do you rejuvenate when life gets busy? Hide my phone and go for a walk. Fresh air helps me think and not having my phone disconnects me from all the things I have to do, temporarily!

5. Do you have any daily rituals or mantra's that serve you? My personal mantra is pretty generic, cheesy, and maybe even lame but it definitely works for me... Never give up! There are going to be a lot of bad days but there are also going to be a lot of good days. As long as you keep working at it, it'll all be worth it.

6. How do you find balance in your life both personally and in business? Finding balance is about dedicating certain days to specific tasks and ignoring everything else. If I am having a personal day, I'll try my best to avoid reading my emails, although it is very tempting.

7. Tell us of a personal or business struggle that lead to personal growth or empowerment? I've always struggled to talk to people but after starting my own business, I was forced to step outside my comfort zone and now pitching and talking to people is no problem at all! YEAH!

Thank you Peter for taking the time to talk with us and for helping people see the value in supporting Canadian businesses.

Pilates anyone?

Happy New Year! Hope you're as excited about 2016 as we are. We mainly look forward to encouraging you to get to your mat, move your body and take care of yourself. With this in mind, did you know we have Pilates classes on Have you ever tried Pilates? Here's some reasons why you should try Pilates from one of our skillful teachers, Chrissy Ramstead;

Joseph Pilates invented a series of exercises that lengthen and lean the body. He was a sickly child with asthma, rickets, and rheumatic fever who believed that improving core strength, breathe and posture, while decreasing stress, was the key to health. His theory worked, because by the age of 14 he was fit enough to pose for anatomical charts and lived a strong influential life until he was 83.

Pilates leads to greater core strength, improved posture, and a leaner body. Practicing regularly strengthens the immune system and lowers cortisol levels and stress, which also translates into weight management benefits.

With less stress and better health everything from picking up your children, sitting at your desk all day, to climbing a mountain becomes easier when you do Pilates regularly. With an improved sense of well being and increased quality of life one can’t help but feel more confident and hopefully even joyful.

I practice Pilates every morning first thing because it sets me up for success every day. The results I’ve experienced have been transformational. Now I challenge you to try it this year.

Here's to You,

This time of year is about celebrating the belief that there is something bigger than us and that in some way or another we are all connected.

We run around putting up lights or some of us a tree and there is a lot of shopping and eating and celebrating, but behind all of this tinsel and eggnog is the fact that the holiday is a time that people want to connect. We will drive through snow, fly overseas and wait in long, long lines just to be with family and friends. To be a part of something. There is history in our celebration.

Regardless of your beliefs this is the time to connect, to give, to love, to believe in something far bigger than what we see and what we can touch.

This is the holiday.

In the words of our friend the Grinch “What if Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more.”

Glitter, Tinsel and Love.

Therapeutic power of YOGA

Yoga by nature is therapeutic and has healed and transformed the lives of many people for many years. However, over the last 5 years, we've seen "Yoga Therapy" become it's own discipline. Health care practitioners are including yoga techniques in their healing modalities. Western physicians and physiotherapists are prescribing yoga to patients to assist in the healing process for everything from PTSD, chronic pain, acute injuries to specific diseases, like cancer, crohns and other auto immune diseases. The effects of yoga have been studied by a number of different universities and fascinating articles have been published on the power of this practice for healing. Check this article out on the effects of yoga therapy for chronic lower back pain.

We at believe deeply in the power of yoga to heal and transform and we're blessed to have Leanne Kitteridge's teachings on our site. Leanne has been teaching for over a decade & specializes in yoga as physical therapy. She also works in one of the top physiotherapy clinics in Canada as a movement educator. When she's not at the clinic, she can be found teaching public classes, immersions, specialty workshops and teacher trainings. We highly recommend Leanne's classes to anyone looking to specifically address certain areas of the body or just simply educate yourself on healthy alignment and movement.

Leanne has a number of great yoga classes on, however these are 2 of our Favourite Therapeutic classes, that we know you'll love.

A Hopi Elder Speaks

This quote has been my favourite for over ten years. I feel that it needs to be shared and I hope you also love these words. Sent with Love, CJ

A Hopi Elder Speaks

"You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour, now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour.  And there are things to be considered . . .
Where are you living?
What are you doing?
 What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?
Know your garden.
It is time to speak your Truth.
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader."
Then he clasped his hands together, smiled, and said, "This could be a good time!"
"There is a river flowing now very fast.  It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.  They will try to hold on to the shore.   They will feel they are torn apart and will suffer greatly.
"Know the river has its destination.  The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above water.   And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate.  At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, Least of all ourselves.  For the moment that we do,  our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.
"The time for the lone wolf is over.  Gather yourselves!  Banish the word struggle from you attitude and your vocabulary.  All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.
"We are the ones we've been waiting for."
